Heather Duckworth

Heather is an aerospace engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, working on the upcoming Mars 2020 rover, whose goal is to collect surface samples to be sent back to Earth. Prior to working at JPL, Heather was an engineer at SpaceX on the Crew Dragon spacecraft, which will be launching NASA astronauts to the International Space Station in the coming years.  She is passionate about education and development, and has helped manage the NASA Ames Academy and Caltech Space Challenge, two programs aimed at preparing students for space science and engineering careers. Before turning her focus towards the stars, Heather was a professional performer, which included dancing as a Radio City Rockette and performing in the Broadway national tour of A Chorus Line.
